There’s No Timeline for Growth

This week I flew to New York to shoot an extra scene for God of Earth. I thought it would be simple: fly in, film, fly home. But life had other plans. A storm rolled in, and suddenly I was living inside a travel montage — five airports, four hotels, nine Ubers, and three days of “Are you kidding me?”

There were moments I didn’t recognize myself. Like the sarcastic comment I made to an airline employee on day two (still cringing). Or the tears that wouldn’t stop while I sat next to strangers I desperately wanted to talk to. But underneath all of it, something surprising was happening: I stayed calm. Not perfectly, but honestly. And that’s new.

I realized I’m growing more now than I did years ago. Back then, I was healing. I wasn’t ready for this kind of expansion. As a friend reminded me this week: There’s no speed requirement on growth.

The Return Home

After finally landing at LAX at midnight on Friday, I was up hosting my workshop at 10am in North Hollywood. And that night, I performed the best set I’ve ever done at Comedy & Magic. Exhausted, expanded, and somehow more myself than ever.

This Week

Brave & Funny Lab — This weekend my workshop is on Sunday, August 2nd at 1pm in North Hollywood. It is ninety minute comedy workshop and there is an optional thirty minute Q&A after at 2:30 p.m.
