A Week That Tried To Outrun Me
Every stride carries a story
This past week felt like my life was sprinting ahead of me yelling, “Catch up if you can!”
I scheduled workshops — unknowingly — during the World Cup. I mean… who competes with the World Cup? Not me. So those got canceled. Then I went from coaching sessions straight to a 100 degree bar patio show, and then right to a friend’s to immediately lay down a self‑tape that was due in a few hours.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, I almost talked myself out of the audition.
Full spiral. Full “Maybe I shouldn’t do this.” Full “Who am I kidding?”
But I did. And I had the most fun doing it. Like, actual fun — the kind that reminds you why you started any of this in the first place.
That’s when it hit me:
I’m expanding faster than I can keep up.
And honestly? That’s the good news.
For years I’ve been working on my common center — that grounded place inside me that doesn’t get thrown by chaos, deadlines, or the emotional weather of the day. And now that the hustle is here, every moment feels like a test. Not a punishment. A test of capacity. A test of nervous system. A test of truth.
And the truth is: I’m handling it.
Not perfectly. Not gracefully. But I’m handling it.
Expansion isn’t glamorous. It’s messy. It’s hilarious. It’s “Why did I schedule a workshop during the World Cup?” It’s “Why am I doing a self‑tape while wearing shorts?” It’s “Why did I almost talk myself out of an audition I ended up loving?”
Growth doesn’t feel like fireworks.
It feels like logistics.
It feels like showing up anyway.
It feels like laughing at yourself while you do it.
I’m expanding faster than I can keep up.
And I’m learning that keeping up isn’t the point.
Staying centered is.
